You Live, You Learn
Another build that caused my jaded jaw to drop was the Arcadia 85 Solar. From the outside, she was aggressively angular and modern looking, with a huge, partially covered aft deck and teak sole that immediately ticked the crucial “outside living” box.
When I stepped into the salon, though, I was completely disoriented. Yes, there were a large flat-screen TV and luxurious furniture, but there was so much glass around me, such a flood of light coming into the boat, that I felt like I was still outside!
The views were spectacular, and looking up, the solar panels on the glass roof created a groovy grid effect. Seriously, if you suffer from seasonal affective disorder, I cannot recommend this boat highly enough. (Scandinavia, I’m talking to you!)
