Nordlund 105

The Nordlund 105 is a perfect left-coast sportfisherman.

The Nordlund Boat Company sets itself apart as a yard capable of building, among other hull types, sportfishermen for West Coast anglers.

The latest launch is Mixer, a 105-footer built specifically for fishing around Southern California and Mexico. Company President Paul Nordlund said the 105 "Isn't what a Floridian would call a sportfisher, but she'll get the job done for those who plan to fish and cruise on the left coast."

Her hull is built of Airex cored fiberglass, and her superstructure and bulkheads are cored fiberglass. She was delivered well outfitted, with three bait tanks, a fighting chair and freezers recessed into the afterdeck, among other fishing amenities.

Nordlund said the 105's interior finish separates her from many models in her class. "Many sportfish boats have a bare bones-type deal going on down below, Nordlund said. "This isn't the case here.

One example is a spiral staircase that leads from the main deck to the master stateroom. Interior fit and finish is a notch above, as well.

A pair of 1,350 hp Detroit Diesel 12V2000s powers the Nordlund 105. Fuel capacity is an impressive 6,000 gallons, and she cruises at 18 knots with a top end of 22 knots, according to the company.
